She had seen many people doing it. They walked into that building and came out with a new friend. It looked nice.
So she waited a few minutes after a trainer left the lab, and approached the building. She simply pushed the door open and walked in without knocking; she didn't know you were supposed to. It was a lot warmer in here than outside.

Professor Wilson jumped a little from the sudden cool air. She turned around and laughed, seeing the new trainer. "Hello there! What type of trainer are you?"

Vixen stared for a moment, tilting her head. "...Type? I... don't understand." She'd only known Pokémon to have types. When did humans have them? If they had them, why did they need Pokémon?

Professor Wilson laughed. "I mean, are you a breeder, ranger, coordinator or actual trainer?" Her hair bounced with her giggles.

"Oh... Uh... Breeder..?" The answer was slightly unsure. She was only told about the details of these once, a long type ago. She wasn't told they all classified as trainers. If she remembered correctly, a breeder raised Pokémon. That sounded likeable.

"Great! Now what type of pokemon do you want?" Professor Wilson showed Vixen the four starters. "Now, Petilil is a rarer, new species. I would suggest this one to you, because we know very little about this one. Perfect for a new breeder!"

"Ah..." She knew it would probably be a good idea to choose that Pokémon based on what she said, but... A different Pokémon grabbed her attention. "What is... that one called?" She gestured to the small, blue, flying one.

Professor Wilson looked at the picture, seeing what "that one" was. She smiled. "Woobat. Another new pokemon to this region. No one usually picks it... Do you want it?" Professor Wilson smiled.

"...Yes, pl--" The large Wigglytuff bounded into the lab, knocking a few things over on the way, presenting to Vixen a pink plastic egg;
And to Professor Wilson, some jellybeans before leaving again, knocking a few more things over. "...Uh.. The... The Woobat, please." Vixen stared at where the creature left, wondering just what it was doing. |
